MGR Central Bus Terminus (New Bus Stand): This is one of the busiest bus stations that connect almost all places in Tami Nadu, working round the clock.

Incidentally, there are 24 hour bus services that operate from Salem Junction Railway station to both bus stations.

One can make use of a taxi as it is relatively cheaper compared to other cities or make use of public transportation in the form of buses, where it is usually crowded. The Anna Transport Corporation Limited, Salem was established on February 15, 1973 with 45 buses with assets of the State Transport Department in Salem and Dharmapuri districts. The Corporation also took over three co-operative Motor Transport Societies in these two districts. The Anna Transport Corporation was later renamed as Tamil Nadu State Tansport Corporation.
